Attention Local Business Owners

  • Do you have projects you need to launch to expand your business but lack the capital and labor to do so?
  • Do you enjoy mentoring and working with motivated, entrepreneurial young people?
  • Would your business benefit from the creation of an operations manual?

A college intern may be just the thing you need to help boost your business.

Did you know that a college intern can help you do the following:

  • Boost your internet presence through online marketing techniques.
  • Study your business and document processes to assist in the repetitive hiring and training of seasonal staff by writing an operations manual.
  • Tackle one-time projects that you don’t have the time for such as researching other suppliers, getting bids for construction, turning accounts receivable over to a collections company, writing grant applications, designing advertising brochures or scripting television commercials.

Both Hartwick and SUCO have expressed an interest in expanding their intern programs to provide their students with real-world experience. Students need a competitive edge in the job market today and having tangible experience in a hands-on role with a small business is just what they hunger for.

Students earn classroom credit for performing 40 hours of work for businesses. Some interns receive no compensation and others receive a small stipend for the work they perform. Some work as part-time employees in addition to their 40 hour internship commitment.
